Thank you for visiting my website!! I am a part time, freelance photographer living in the Northern California specializing in raptor photography. The goal of my photography is to capture photos that tell a story. Birds sitting on a rock or branch or flying against the sky are nice, but I strive for something more. I guess you would call me a purist because I don't bait, flush or use calls and approach nests as if they were my own family. Past and present clients include National Wildlife and Living Bird Magazines, numerous newspapers and books, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, the USDA, the Peregrine Fund and even the Grateful Dead! You can also find many of my images on the Cornell Lab of Ornithology's "Birds of North America" website, the Raptor Research Foundation website, the Santa Cruz Predatory Bird Research Group website, the London Peregrine Partnership website and Coastal Raptors website.
I have been a winner twice in the National Wildlife Photo Contest and have been in semi-finals of the BBC and Nature's Best Photo Contests. In 2008 I worked with two good friends, Kate Davis and Rob Palmer, to publish the book "Falcons of North America". In 2011, the three of us published another book titled "Raptors of the West" which won honors for Artistic Merit and Design from the National Outdoor Book Awards. You can find it on Amazon, your local bookstore, or contact me for a signed copy. All my images are copyrighted. No unauthorized use of any kind is permitted. My site provides for prints in a number of sizes. Be sure sure to look at the cropping the printer does, you may not want that. The images here are samples of my work. I have many, many more. If you are looking for something different, let me know.
